Overview

The film in brief.

Polar Routes flies small-ship expeditions where the map turns white. They needed an aerial film that sells remoteness without hiding its rigor — pressure ridges, leads and bergs, filmed from two hundred feet.

Shot across nine flight days with heavy-lift drones and a helicopter unit, the three-minute film became the company's signature asset, screened in every booking briefing.

The challenge

What we were up against.

Cold kills flight time, whiteouts erase contrast, and wildlife rules restrict where anything can fly. Every aerial minute had to be earned through permits, spotters and patience.

The approach

How we solved it.

We paired drone teams with a helicopter for altitude layering, kept batteries warm in insulated cases, and planned flights around low sun so the ice reads in sculptural relief.
